About Mike Harrison the Photographer
Although I take pictures of any subject that interests me I primarily photograph the UK's wildlife and natural landscapes (you can see the gallery page for proof of this!). I do most of my work in Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland where wildlife is in abundance and the landscapes are truly inspirational.
Though I have no formal training in photography, I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. I started winning photography competitions and got my first work published while I was still at high school. I haven't looked back since!
My work has been published in calendars, on postcards (most notably for Goodrich Castle in Herefordshire) and in magazines (including Commercial Motor, Motor Transport, Country Walking, BBC History and Birds Illustrated).
I also regularly have photos published in the Stranraer & Wigtownshire Free Press, particularly of local events. If you would like photographs from a local event please contact me.
